The South West Coast Path Challenge in October 2015 is a fundraising event, which aims to set a new record for the number of times people can walk or run the Coast Path in one month. Participants can create their own challenge or join one of four organised 10 mile challenge walks – every mile counts!

On Saturday 31st October, the last of the 10 mile Challenge walks kicks off on the beautiful Dorset coast – the official end of the South West Coast Path.

The walk sets out from Admiral’s Hard and continues along the waterfront to reveal a wealth of historic features from a restored naval base at Royal William Yard to the Mayflower Steps where the Pilgrim Fathers set sail.

Challenge630 gets going to raise vital funds for Path

launch day pic 1Staff from the South West Coast Path Association and the National Trust have joined forces on the South Devon coastline to celebrate the launch of the Coast Path’s Walking Challenge.

The event, backed by TV adventurer Monty Halls aims to get as many people as possible walking along the coast path during October. It could be one mile or the entire 630 mile route in a bid to set the record for the number of times people can collectively walk or run the equivalent distance to the length of the Path in one month.
