South West Coast Path takes star turn on TV screens nationwide

A 5-part series about the South West Coast Path is to be broadcast nationwide from next Friday 18th November, with a primetime slot on BBC2 at 8.30pm.

In this new series titled ‘Coastal Path’, explorer Paul Rose tells the story of the South West Coast Path, which at 630 miles, is England’s Longest National Trail and one of the world’s best loved walks. It’s also considered to be one of the biggest challenges yet for Paul Rose whose adventures have taken him all over the world.

Monty Halls at first South West Outdoor Festival

TV personality and marine biologist Monty Halls, a former Royal Marines Officer who is famous for his televised escapades and adventures all over the planet, will be taking part in the first South West Outdoor Festival, at Heddon Valley in North Devon (23-25 September).

The festival is being supported by numerous well-known names from the outdoor world who either hail from the region originally, or have gravitated here because of the wealth of exciting adventure opportunities that exist in the area.

Tickets on sale for the first South West Outdoor Festival (23-25 September)

A child toasting marshmallows over an open camp fire at Colby Woodland Garden, Pembrokeshire.The South West is a mecca for outdoor activities and adventure pursuits, and this year the inaugural South West Outdoor Festival is inviting everyone to come and explore the incredible range of opportunities that are taking place around one unique place: Heddon Valley in Exmoor National Park.

Tickets are now on sale for the festival, run in partnership with Cotswold Outdoor, the National Trust’s official outdoor retailer, which takes place over the weekend of 23–25 September. The event is suitable for everyone from young families to adventurous individuals, with something for all ages and levels of skill, experience and fitness. All that’s needed is a willingness to have a go, try something new or take on a challenge. Alternatively, you can simply soak up the ambience, and enjoy the local food and entertainment.
